Tight: Graduate show that explores themes of mental health, women's rights and vulnerability
An ambitious and immersive exhibition of art showcasing the work of fifteen MA Fine Art students will take place in Lincoln this September. Tight, which launches this Saturday, has been made possible thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign.

With pieces exploring themes of mental health, women’s rights and human vulnerability, the event at the University of Lincoln’s Peter de Wint Building will explore a range of mediums. Highlights include artist Dale Wells’ intricate dioramas depicting "pig ravaged landscapes" inspired by 1960's horror films as well as pieces by young female artist Natasha Monfared whose work highlights women’s rights in Iran.
The group of student exhibitors includes internationally acclaimed artist Darren Neave, whose work as one-half of the Little Artists was exhibited at the Walker Gallery in Liverpool. Darren’s latest work will highlight what he calls his "rural rehabilitation" in Lincolnshire with a combination of installation and performance art.
The show will also include work by internationally renowned wood turner and sculptor Joey Richardson whose recent work questions our notion of what is wooden by combining the traditional skill of wood carving with contemporary additions such as ice and ceramics.
Student, artist and co-organiser of the event, Darren Neave said: "This is our most ambitious final degree art show to date and we are excited to share what is an innovative and at times, controversial exhibition with the public.
"We are also grateful for the support we have already received via our Kickstarter campaign and hope that it has given people a taste of what to expect from the exhibition."
Tight is open to the public and free to attend. More information can be found on Facebook.
