The modernist parks and pavements of Copacabana designed by Roberto Burle Marx
This September, Ground Floor Space will take us to Roberto Burle Marx’s public parks and promenades in Rio de Janeiro, to understand how these modernist spaces shaped the city, its culture and its identity.

Part of the London Design Festival, endorsed by the Embassy of Brazil Cultural Office in London, the show will reveal prints of Burle Marx's rare architectural drawings and a 1:1 interpretation of Copacabana's pavements, developed in collaboration with The Plant Magazine.
The Brazilian landscape architect once said: "A garden is a result of an arrangement of natural materials according to aesthetic laws; interwoven throughout are the artist's outlook on life, his past experiences, his affections, his attempts, his mistakes and his successes."
Roberto's Rio runs from 15 until 23 September 2018 at Ground Floor Space, the gallery in Bermondsey by dn&co.
