IYA Studio's Russian Constructivism-inspired knitwear branding

The brand bills itself as a "unique style of knitwear for Modern Living", with garments inspired by bold colours and patterns.

The identity, too, looks to bold geometric patterns for inspiration—especially the work of Russian constructivist painter Kazimir Malevich.

"By creating a visual grid that can be used across print and digital, we developed a flexible system to marry imagery, type and bold colour blocks to build up engaging visuals," says IYA creative director Matt Cottis.

A series of icons were created to link the brand's logo marque to the grid idea, which each depict the garments' bold block patterning. A clear, geometric font with a modern feel—we're a big fan of the exaggerated feature on the 'G'—is used throughout the branding, from swing tag on the clothing to brochures and business cards.

IYA works across graphics, online retail, print and interiors projects; as well as Augmented Reality projects. The Country of Origin work takes a similar approach to that used in its ace branding for clothing store Kiosk N1C in London's King's Cross, which take a similarly striking, minimal identity that demonstrates a keen eye for physicality in materials such as tags and labelling.
