Emerging artist Alexandra Grounds modernises pop-art icons with giant feminist works

"Rather than try to get rid of all the things that have constituted being a woman for so long, as some feminists in some ways try to do, I think we should embrace those aspects – regarding sexuality and our bodies," says Alexandra.

Represented by the Oliver Cole Gallery, Alexandra was also a pivotal force in the development of the Arts Department at her former academy. Her paintings are founded on an introspective message of gender equality and the importance of deflecting stereotypes.
