Beautiful Bauhaus-inspired illustration from Aga Giecko to celebrate the school's centenary
We cannot get enough of the playful shapes, bold lines and bright colours of Aga Giecko's illustration work.

The Poland-born, London-based illustrator is a graduate of Camberwell College of Art, and was named as one of It's Nice That's 2018 grads, with the publication praising her "mischievous and whimsical characters".
Now, Giecko has turned her well-trained eye to the Bauhaus, marking the school's centenary year 2019 with an exhibition of illustration inspired by the establishment.
As you'd expect, there's a fair bit of geometric shape trickery here; and deft use of primary colours. What Giecko does brilliantly is never veering into a pastiche of the harsh modernity that many Bauhaus practitioners sought; instead, she brings bags of her own character with hand lettering and playful character design.
Previously, Giecko's work has been commissioned by the likes of So Young magazine, People of Print, the brilliant Threads Radio; and has appeared on a sparkling wine label for Liberty London.
The Aga Giecko: Bauhaus 100 exhibition runs until 11 May at Kuratiert, Berlin.
