The role
A content strategy post in the content team at Loom Digital, a B Corp-certified digital marketing agency in Bristol, within its Organic division. You would lead content strategies for B2B and e-commerce clients, helping them stay visible in both traditional search and AI platforms, and explain the value of SEO and GEO (generative engine optimisation) to client stakeholders. The agency puts human-written content first, but the role includes experimenting with AI for the admin and research side of content work. Loom's three-year growth plan centres on its organic service, and there is scope to build a team over time.
What you'll do
Content strategy and planning
- Develop and lead long-term content strategies that reflect client goals, audiences, search intent and brand positioning
- Work with the Organic team on larger website architecture and transformation projects
- Carry out keyword research, prompt research and competitor analysis across varied sectors and niche markets
- Build editorial calendars matched to audience and intent, map out deliverables and carry out the strategy
- Monitor organic performance, write monthly reports and detailed quarterly reports, and adjust strategy according to the data
- Keep up with industry developments and bring useful new ideas and trends into Loom's content services
Content creation and governance
- Write and optimise B2B and B2C content, including blogs, e-commerce product descriptions, landing pages and page briefs
- Research complex or niche subjects and turn them into readable, useful articles and landing pages that suit each client's brand
- Audit and optimise new and existing content for SEO and GEO
- Upload content to client websites, or work with clients so that uploads follow SEO good practice
- Balance SEO, GEO and web-writing recommendations against each client's messaging and tone of voice
Stakeholder and client management
- Build trusted client relationships and help clients see the value of content and SEO
- Win support from key client stakeholders by explaining strategy and insight clearly, and be their first contact for questions on content, AI and SEO
- Work with the content team, technical SEO specialists and the wider agency on multi-channel campaigns
About you
- Three years of experience delivering successful content strategies, ideally for technical or niche industries
- Strong writing and research skills in long and short form, for B2B and B2C audiences
- An understanding of SEO and content good practice, and the ability to monitor performance
- Experience with SEO tools such as Ahrefs or Advanced Web Rankings
- Strong leadership skills and the confidence to own clients' content strategies and, where relevant, organic service delivery
- Close attention to detail, particularly when proofreading internal or client content
- Excellent communication and management skills
- A combination of strategic thinking, strong copywriting and a data-led approach
- Desirable: agency experience, or experience of running several campaigns at once
- Desirable: curiosity about AI and its part in content creation
What's on offer
- Flexible working hours
- Hybrid working: the agency is office-first, with up to 50% of working time from home
- 25 days of holiday a year, plus one more day for each year of service up to a cap of 32
- Annual discretionary company bonus
- A paid day off on your birthday
- Office closure over Christmas
- Company pension
- Enhanced parental leave
- Flexible benefits, including private healthcare and gym or yoga membership
- Eyecare benefit and an annual glasses allowance
- Support for personal development, a mentor scheme, protected development time and a training budget for each team member
- Two paid days a year for charity work, in support of the agency's B Corp commitments
- Early finish on Fridays, and Friday afternoons off in summer
- Length-of-service reward and a recently introduced loyalty scheme
