The role
Engage, an employee-owned B Corp digital agency in Leeds, is hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead its largest and most complex digital projects from discovery to launch and optimisation. The work includes integration-heavy platform builds (logged-in experiences, ecommerce and payments, back-end systems and data) and content-rich website rebuilds with large stakeholder groups and content operations. It is a full-time role with at least three days a week in the office.
What you'll do
Project management
- Plan delivery from start to finish, including handover
- Run delivery governance: RAID logs, dependencies, decision logs and release planning
- Manage scope, budget, forecasting and change control, including the commercial impact of changes
- Shape the technical approach and non-functional requirements with tech leads
- Coordinate internal teams, clients and third parties
- Own project communications, documentation and stakeholder reporting
- Monitor progress and remove blockers
- Oversee quality and testing before work is released to the client
- Manage content-heavy delivery: audits, information architecture, migration and governance
- Handle post-launch handover and training
Communication
- Keep communication consistent across clients, internal teams and third parties, adapting tone to the audience and managing the channels used
- Build trusted client relationships, escalate issues early with options, and handle difficult conversations
Project governance
- Manage scheduling and task ownership, and resource projects in the scheduling software
- Protect the team's focus
- Estimate new work
- Look after day-to-day account commercials: forecasts, budget burn and margin
- Invoice against milestones and keep internal reporting up to date
About you
- Experience of leading complex, multi-workstream digital projects from start to finish
- Experience on projects of 2,000 to 3,000 hours or more
- Senior client relationship management experience
- Experience of coordinating clients and third parties, such as vendors, integration partners, accessibility specialists and IT/security teams
- Experience of delivering technically complex work: APIs, authentication, data handling, ecommerce and payments
- Experience of managing non-functional requirements and QA
- Experience of leading content-heavy rebuilds
- Experience of owning account commercials and resource planning
- Experience of working across waterfall, agile and phased approaches
- Line management or people leadership experience
- Takes ownership of outcomes and communicates calmly and clearly under pressure
- Strong planning and prioritisation, with a focus on delivery quality
- Technically confident: you do not need to be a developer, but you should ask the right questions early and help teams weigh trade-offs
