Le Crazy: New works by Malika Favre inspired by Parisian cabaret Le Crazy Horse
Illustrator Malika Favre is launching a brand new exhibition later this month, entitled Le Crazy and featuring works inspired by the iconic Parisian cabaret Le Crazy Horse. It came about a couple of years after being invited to see the show Désirs in Paris. The resulting screen-printed pieces depict a sensual dancer moving through graphic patterns and sharp lighting.
The show will feature 11 limited-edition screenprints, as well as some large-scale neon signs, and runs from 23 November until 3 December at Outline Editions in Shoreditch, London.
Malika's bold, minimal style is a striking lesson in the use of positive/negative space and colour. Her work always springs from a strong narrative core and is intended to provoke the imagination – with a bit of humour, a touch of sexiness, and a re-imagination of the ordinary.
